MOON OVER THE WALL
The faithful ever-changing face of the moon
Peers over the ivy-laced wall
I am caught in that tissue called loneliness
Strangled tight by its tenuous crawl
Its hands are both sown with obscurity
Its toes are then far too direct
Like a falsified creature of nature
Its voice tells me what now to expect
History repeats itself it says
And your karma is certainly fixed
The encircling sound of its whisper
So luring and with odd comfort mixed
It's solitude that comes to the rescue
As I tread out into the night
With moon-lamp no longer behind a wall
I can feel this companion of light
Not the scorching rays of the sun
But a visage illumined by tears
That tipped gaze of gentle unknowing
As a friend simply bowing their ears
The way is the way of un-knowing
A path marked by love not by thought
The soother of fear is this soltitude
Where the cloud of un-knowing is taught
That moment a star darted toward the moon
Like a longing spurred on by the heart
It was gone just as quickly as it appeared
And as such a new story can start
